Jake Bugg Interview

This week we have managed to get a quick interview with Jake Bugg, a great young talent from Nottingham. I saw him last year at Glastonbury on the BBC introducing stage when he was only 17. This year could be strong for him with his unique sound, I know I would like to hear something different on the radio.

Hi Jake I'm really glad you have time to speak to us as I saw you at Glastonbury and was really impressed. What festivals do you have lined up for this year?
I have quite a few actually,
Splendour
Boardmasters
Secret garden Party and lots more.

I have heard some of your music on Radio 1, Zane Lowe's show, are you hoping to break into the day time shows as well?
Yeah that would be amazing and a brilliant achievement for any artist!

The song 'Trouble Town' is it about Nottingham? Is there any where else you would like to be?
It is about Nottingham but not just Nottingham. I've always wanted to go to Texas.

I have noticed on your Facebook page there is only one song but there a couple more on YouTube. Will there be an album out soon?
There will be an album out later on in the year or the beginning of next year. There will also be an EP released in May.

Your music must be very influenced by an older style? If you could go see any artist dead or alive who would it be?
Ahh it would probably be The Beatles haha

Are you hoping that your songs will get people interested again in the greats like Dylan, Johnny Cash and all the other pioneers of music?
Yeah deffiently that would be brilliant, there's a lot of bad music out there these days.

Thanks for the time and good luck.

Don't forget if you like the sound of him, on his Facebook page he has 'Trouble Town' as a free download.

Also have a look on our page for new music everyday.
