Most Planes Land Live Review

Quick Review of Most Planes Land

We went to see them support Various Cruelties on the Thursday the 26th of April, they started off by coming on the stage and saying it's an over 14 year old show so we can't fucking swear, this set the humour for the rest of the show. Before their first song they were trying to get the very small crowd to join in with the swearing by getting everyone to shout out there favourite swear word, only one person joined in. For future reference be the first to swear as you get a free CD. Tom (Singer/Guitar) was just trying to get people involved its just a shame the rest of the band didn't join in unfortunately they didn't seem to want to be there.
The stage was poorly set up nothing to do with Most Planes Land just how they had things set for VC. Diego (Drums) was right out the way and if you were stood head on in the middle of the crowd you wouldn't see him very well in his dark corner. Sarah (Keyboard) was placed the opposite side of Diego and was well in view with a couple of speakers to contend with, but unfortunately didn't really move or say anything just came, played and left. Tom and Ollie (Bass) in the centre with Ollie just stood at the back nearly behind Tom looking quite shy with his cap on.

When the music started they blew me a way they sounded as good as they do on the Internet; Tom's voice even more soulful in person, Diego keeping it tight on the drums along with Ollie. When Diego's microphone finally got turned up they all helped out with backing voices. 'Gravity' sounded great, I am a huge fan of this song anyway, I think its even better live.
Even with the unnecessary swearing which I understand they were just trying to get the crowd involved, they were brilliant and if you have heard them and like them you should definitely go and see them. I wasn't the only one who thought this, with the bassist from Various Cruelties standing along side the stage for most of the gig, even when I saw him walk off as he saw the rest of the band he wasn't leaving he was trying to get them to come and watch as well.

Keep an eye on there Facebook page for up and coming dates and check out there turns if their new to you.
