The Manchester music scene has been strong since the late 80's, with bands like Joy Division, The Smiths and The Stone Roses proudly hailing from there;
this Welsh 4 piece has moved there to integrate into the scene and make their impact.

The first tune we heard from these lads, 'Take Me To The River', immediately became our Track of the Day. They'll be releasing their debut E.P at the end of the month, and with this just around the corner we thought it would be nice to get to know them. So...........
Hey guys, how long have you known each other, and been playing together?
(Kidsmoke) has only been going since January 2013, but we have known each other for a long time, from previous bands. The principle song writing duo of the band met, and began exchanging ideas, at around the age of 4.
We see the likes of The Smiths, Joy Division and Deerhunter are big influences on you, how would you describe your style of music, and what other bands have influenced you?
We are in a similar vain to those bands you mentioned. More melodic bands have had a big influence on our song writing; obviously The Beatles, The Beach Boys... a lot of the sixties groups. It's about trying to find a way of creating a memorable melody whilst keeping your songs interesting and different.
We really enjoy the track 'Take Me To The River' and we understand you have an E.P coming out soon? What can people expect to hear on it?
The EP is called 'Higher' which is also the name of the lead track. That one is of a similar style to 'Take Me To The River', but we have a more experimental one on there and one that is quite simple too. It's quite a varied EP. We're still finding our sound.
Manchester has been a huge part of the whole English music scene, how is it doing now? Any bands that you would recommend to us?
We are based in Manchester but we moved up from Wales to go into Uni a few years ago. I don't think that we'd be best qualified to give the verdict on how Manchester is doing at the moment, but it is quite inspiring when some of your favourite bands are from here. Like hearing Morrissey singing about Whalley Range and you think "oh yeah that's where I live".
Where can people catch you playing live?
The EP launch will be in The Compass in Chester on 30th August. Before that we play Dulcimer on 24th August supporting Blaue Blume. We will keep adding dates as we go - the Facebook page will be the best place to check.
What would your dream gig be? And what bands would you have supporting you, dead or alive?
Primavera is a festival we really like. To play there would be ace. The Beatles in 1966 form would be a pretty decent support band. I'm sure some of the band might like to see The Smiths reform for that one too. Elliott Smith would be a good acoustic opener.
And finally Snickers or Mars Bar?
Mars. But we would prefer some cans.
