Elsie Interview

Elsie is an artist who got in contact with us, showed us a couple of tracks and we really liked her sound. We decided to get a quick interview with her to showcase her skills to all our fans.
Her most recent track, 'Summer Sun', is more of a 2-step track, and if thats not for you, theres so much variety that I'm sure you'll find something you like.
For an insight into her music, check out her soundcloud -

How long have you been making music?

Since I was old enough to sing! I used to sing the EastEnders theme tune to my nan, with made up words, when I was a little girl. I think she wished I didn't!

Where are you from? You're based in London, right?

Well I'm from just outside Liverpool, but I'm based in London now. My life revolves around what I think are two of the most important musical cities in the world.

Where can we see you play?

I've not had any time to do my own gigs for about a year - but you can see me almost any time that Tom Jones is gigging as I sing for him!

What would your dream gig be?

Opening up for Mariah Carey in the 1990s, but in an incredibly intimate (for her) venue. Somewhere like Shepherd's Bush Empire.

We have seen you like a bit of Fleetwood Mac, are there many other bands you feel have influenced you?

Well, I LOVE Blondie just like almost every other female in the music business, but The Arctic Monkeys absolutely blew my mind when they first appeared. I was really into Jamie T's first album too - and Jessie Ware's album is my favourite of the last year or so. I love hooks, beats and bass lines - that's why my music is so varied from song to song. Sometimes I'm in a hip hop mood, sometimes I like a bit of guitar action.

If you could see any artist, dead or alive, who would it be, and where?

I think it would have to be Michael Jackson. I had a ticket to see him at the O2 and sadly - well you know. I'd like to see the White Stripes reform and play an arena gig too. As long as I had amazing tickets.

And finally, Coke or Pepsi?

I'll say Diet Pepsi. Got to watch those dangerous calories and I swear I DO really prefer the taste of diet!
